About this text
- Arabic: the Uthmani text of the Tanzil Project (tanzil.net), unaltered. The Bismillah, which the source repeats at the start of each surah, is shown once above it.
- English translation: M. H. Shakir, as published by the Tanzil Project.
- The ayah numbering is the common Hafs numbering (6,236 ayat), in which the Bismillah is the first ayah of al-Fatiha. Above every other surah except al-Tawba the Bismillah is shown without a number.
